I recently read an article about female managers and female entrepreneurs in business and it made me stop and consider the principal contacts at our clients and suppliers and specifically the demographics within those positions across the companies we service.
When thinking about the individuals in question, I am not surprised that they are in those positions. I can simply confirm that there are a high number of female managers, who are highly intelligent, have great follow-up, good attention to detail and highly professional personnel skills.
After reading the article what really surprised me is that I had previously given no consideration to the number of women who are the principal contacts of our clients or suppliers; I simply accepted everyone as the most deserving person.
Is it that the discriminative attitude is diminished in Australia, should I be more sensitive to the issue, or is this just an American thing?
